Launch of the new ACPMH premises
The Hon Alan Griffin, MP, Minister for Veterans' Affairs, officially opened the new East Melbourne premises of The Australian Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health on Friday 7th August 2009.
"Trauma: Understanding, responding and recovery"
The launch was attended by more than 90 guests with an impressive list of speakers headed by the Hon Alan Griffin, MP, Minister for Veterans' Affairs. Other speakers included Prof Mark Creamer, Director of ACPMH, Prof Susan Elliott, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, Dr Ronald McCoy, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Dr David Barton, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and Mr Jim Ward, trauma survivor.
Following the formal proceedings, four Special Interest Forums were held to provide guests with updates on the latest research and international practice.
