For health professionals

ACPMH works with organisations, services and professional colleges to provide skills development and information sessions for health professionals. We do not have a regular training calendar for individual practitioners. For information about our education and training materials for health professionals and people affected by posttraumatic mental health problems, click here. Information about training for individual practitioners is available from the Australian Psychology Society.

Trauma-focussed training workshops

The trauma-focussed training workshops are designed to provide participants with skills training on how to conduct trauma-focussed interventions. Workshops will be run in a number of different states. Participants will receive skills training on how to conduct trauma-focussed exposure and cognitive therapies, and will explore working with complex cases of PTSD.

Training for Mental Health Practitioners

In 2009 ACPMH conducted an exciting new training initiative for mental health practitioners who work with veterans. This training provides attendees with practical tools to deal with complex cases. For those currently in the program, click here for your training resources.

ADF: Traumatic Stress Syndrome Course

ACPMH conducts Traumatic Stress Syndrome course on behalf of the Australian Defence Force Health Services Branch. This course runs for two weeks and provides training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder, acute stress disorder and a range of comorbid mental health difficulties. Participation is limited to Australian Defence Force personnel. For more information about the course, click here .
